Master Batik Artist Zu Xiong

I am Master Batik “Zu Xiong” and I am 72 years old now.  I am the last Hmong Batik artist in Laos with knowledge of the old way of drawing and understands the meaning behind the ancient symbols.

I have been drawing Hmong batik since I was a child for sixty years now. I am the last Master Batik in Laos, there is no one doing the Hmong Batik in the old way of drawing like I do now, and the old way of drawing would have been lost forever without “Moon Love Batik” to save us. I had been worrying that no one would draw in the old way any longer, but now my concern is relief because I have taught my daughter in-law and a niece to continue my Batik Art through Moon Love Batik shop.
